Introduction

September 5 this year marks the start of the 3rd year for Mizzen Global as registered company. We like to thank all those who expressed their faith in our commitment to work towards a resilient and safe environment.

The past months I have made several blogs about Resilience. The latest blog about the comparison of the 17th century Swedish warship Vasa and the 21st century Panamanian flagged MSC Zoe related to the opportunistic choices of growth, without people being fully aware of possible consequences.

No blog this time, instead you will find a small contest based on a few questions to celebrate our anniversary. Of course, there is a price attached to it. The first three respondents who have the answers correct and filed the open question as well, may choose one book from a selection I made, which are, as far as I am concerned, still a good read for those working with teams, feel attached to resilience, quality, safety & health and are eager to learn.

Questions

  1. Name the place where I did celebrate holiday a few years ago. The picture gives a hint.
  2. At the holiday place, I bought a coffee at a cheap café. But they charged the additional cookie, the coffee is 1 euro more than the cookie they said, I calculated I paid 1,10 euro in local currency. What is the price for the additional cookie? (When you give the answer in the local currency you get bonus points 😊).
  3. Back home after holidays I soon learned that my future would be changing. Name the lifechanging event that marked my start of getting hooked to Resilience and the start of Mizzen Global.
  4. The open question: Mention in your own words what resilience means for you, your team and/or the organization.

The books

The overview of books of which you may select one if you are belonging to the first three respondents with the correct answers and an answer to the open question.

  1. The Culture Map – Erin Meyer
  2. Care to Dare – George Kohlrieser
  3. The Art of War – Sun Tzu
  4. 50 models for strategic thinking – Krogerus / Tschäppeler
